NotTheology.com was started in 2009 as a secular blog to explain and historicize religion and conflict in the Middle East and to place such conflict within its broader context. It analyzes religion from a third party perspective. Therefore, it is not theology.
Allen Benjamin Johnson, III works for the US government on Capitol Hill as a policy adviser and defense analyst. He has a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee. His emphasis in study is in Islam; new religious movements; and religion & violence.
